Empresa de Turismo de Salta capital.
Poncho Tours is run by me, Nick Evans, a Brit, and my Argentine wife Alicia.
We have lived all over the world but since January 2008 we have been based near Alicia’s home in the heart of North West Argentina.
Back in 2003 we bought an old colonial house 15km outside Salta city. Originally a regular escape from our life in London, when we came to live here we turned it into a small B&B.
After years of visits from friends who we took on trips throughout the Andean North West, we started doing tours with individual groups of guests, whose experiences are related in our Guest Book.
And so Poncho Tours was born!
We are no longer running the B&B, but our philosophy remains the same: we offer a personal service from beginning to end.
Salta is just a few hours’ drive from the wine region of Cafayate and the spectacular Calchaquies valleys. We’re perfectly situated to explore the Inca north of Jujuy and the stark landscape of the Altiplano where the Train to the Clouds scales vertiginous mountain passes.
We can also take you deep into the mountain plateau in one of our rugged 4x4 trips, along the wine route from Salta to Mendoza, and on hiking trips into remote areas where you will stay with the locals and get a glimpse into their everyday life. We’re also strategically placed for tours across the border to Bolivia and Chile.
Because we live here, we have up to date knowledge of the best places around, before they even get into the guide books.
When you contact Poncho Tours it’s us you’ll be dealing with: and we’ll help you design your holiday from start to finish.
Your trips will be tailor-made exclusively for you in your own private vehicle, and when you arrive your guide will be one of us or one of our network of English-speaking specialists.
